Job Description for the Post of Director (Gas)

Job Objective

Act as an interface between the government and the oil companies operating in the midstream (e.g. crude oil and petroleum product pipelines) and gas sector and take up the advocacy role with governments on the concerned policy issues.

Also, coordinate with industry members, governments and various stakeholders and jointly work towards sustainable growth of the gas infrastructure and oil & gas pipelines in India.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Take up the advocacy role with governments on behalf of oil and gas companies in India on policy issues.
  • Coordinate with government, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders in the petroleum industry and facilitate sustainable infrastructure growth in the midstream and gas sector.
  • Facilitate global competitiveness of oil and gas companies.
  • Advise/ update industry members on policy changes and its impact in pipelines and gas sector.
  • Facilitate optimization of resources and integration effort amongst petroleum companies.
  • Associate with the FIPI sub-committees in the relevant areas.
  • Coordinate with member companies for sharing “Best Practices” in the Industry.
  • Provide forums for deliberating issues of common interest to industry members.
  • Organize seminars, conferences, training programmes, lectures and publication of technical papers & newsletters and facilitate the same for industry members with DG’s consent.
  • Any other work assigned by Director General, FIPI.

  • Qualification

    Graduate with a degree in Engineering, with in-depth knowledge of sector specific policies and practices. Additional qualification of MBA with specialization in Oil & Gas Business will be preferred.

    Experience

    At least 20-25 years’ relevant experience in oil & gas sector preferably related to natural gas infrastructure and marketing etc. The candidates (serving/retired) holding the position of Executive Director/E-9 level (in Oil & Gas PSUs) or equivalent in private organizations are eligible to apply for this position.

    Age

    Age Limit: 62 years (as on the date of the publication of the advertisement)

    Tenure

    The initial tenure will be for a period of two years, which can be extended for a further period of one year (at the recommendation of Director General and approval of Chairman, FIPI).
