Indian Gas Market
? Gross production of natural gas for the month of April 2026 (P) was 2787 MMSCM which was
lower by 4.2% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
? Total Import of LNG (Provisional) during the month of April 2026 (P) was 2266 MMSCM as per
LNG Importing Entities reporting to PPAC. However, in view of Middle East Conflict, actual figures
for April 2026 are expected to be much lower.
? Natural Gas available for sale during April 2026 (P) was 4574 MMSCM (P) (decrease of 12.3% over
the corresponding month of the previous year).
? Total Gas Consumption Availability during April 2026 (P) was 5014 MMSCM (P) (decrease of 11.2%
over the corresponding month of the previous year). However, this analysis is based on LNG
Import figures for April 2026 as reported by LNG Importing Entities reported to PPAC.
? Major consumers were Fertilizer (27%), City Gas Distribution (CGD) (29%), Power (12%), Refinery
(6%) and Petrochemicals (3%).
