The services sector continued to provide significant support to India's external trade performance.
Estimated services exports increased to US$ 33.03 billion during June 2026 from US$ 32.11 billion a year
earlier, while cumulative services exports during April–June 2026–27 rose by 6.16 per cent to US$ 103.41
billion. The sustained strength in services exports continued to provide a substantial trade surplus,
partially offsetting the widening merchandise trade deficit and reinforcing India's position as a leading
global exporter of information technology, business and professional services.

Overall, India's export performance reflects the continued diversification and resilience of its external
sector. Strong growth in engineering goods, chemicals, electronics, gems & jewellery and services,
together with sustained expansion in non-petroleum exports, underscores India's improving
competitiveness in higher value-added sectors. Going forward, export performance will continue to be
influenced by global economic conditions, international commodity prices, geopolitical developments and
the resilience of India's manufacturing and services sectors.
