Indian Gas Market
• Gross Production of natural gas for the month of August 2026 (P) was 2830 MMSCM which was
lower by 4.7% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
• Total Import of LNG (Provisional) during the month of Aug 2026 (P) was 2953 MMSCM as per
prorated DGCIS data.
• Natural Gas available for Sale during Aug 2026 (P) was 5288 MMSCM (P) (marginal decrease of
2.03% over the corresponding month of the previous year).
• Total Gas Consumption based on Availability during Aug 2026 (P) was 5746 MMSCM (P) (marginal
decrease of 0.7% over the corresponding month of the previous year).
• Major consumers were Fertilizer (29.3%), City Gas Distribution (CGD) (28.4%), Power (9.7%),
Refinery (5.8%) and Petrochemicals (4.9%).
