Mr. V. Satish Kumar has assumed the position of Director General of the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) with effect from 1st October, 2025. A seasoned energy sector professional, Mr. Satish brings with him over 37 years of diverse and distinguished experience across the petroleum value chain, encompassing marketing, finance, sustainability, and strategic leadership.

Prior to joining FIPI, he served on the Board of Indian Oil Corporation Limited as Director (Marketing) and also held additional responsibilities as Director (Finance) and Interim Chairman. During his tenure, he led several transformative initiatives that strengthened Indian Oil’s position as a global energy leader and advanced the company’s digital and sustainability agenda. He also served as Chairman of Indian Oil Mauritius Ltd., Lanka IOC, Indian Oil Petronas Pvt. Ltd., and Indofast Swap Energy Pvt. Ltd., among other key subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Mr. Satish managed a vast marketing network comprising 40,000+ retail outlets, 12,900+ LPG distributors, and aviation fuel operations at 2,300 airports, serving over 150 million households. Under his leadership, Indian Oil’s sales volumes surpassed 100 million metric tonnes, while the company’s global brand rank rose from 7th to 3rd, and brand value increased to USD 5.5 billion.

Throughout his tenure, he has been recognized for advancing sustainability, ESG practices, and digital-first initiatives while mentoring future leaders to navigate the global energy transition. His leadership philosophy blends strategic foresight, operational excellence, and people development, ensuring Indian Oil’s continued growth and relevance in a changing energy ecosystem.

Mr. Satish holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University and an MBA from the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises, Slovenia.
