PetroFed instituted Oil & Gas Industry Awards in 2007. With constant review and update, there are 15 categories of awards at present with a defined structure for submission and evaluation.
Entries are reviewed and evaluated and by an 'Award Committee' consisting of eminent personalities with vast experience in Oil & Gas Industry and specific domains . The committee presents the evaluation to a Jury and winners are announced as per the verdict.
Each award carry a trophy and a citation. Winners of the awards under the categories of 'The Woman Executive of the Year' , 'Innovator of the Year - Individual' and 'Innovator of the year -Team' receive cash component in addition to the trophy and citation.

India is moving towards simpler and transparent administrative and fiscal regime & Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has initiated several policy changes in recent time. In view of the changing new business environment, PetroFed jointly with Eye On decided to conduct a market survey on 'India's Hydrocarbon Sector Investor Index & Market Survey'. The idea is to get the feedback on how the investors perceive the business environment related to Oil and Gas sector. The results of this survey was presented during the Annual Awards Ceremony of PetroFed.

In lieu of the plummeting oil prices, it seemed pertinent to understand the impact of global oil prices on the Indian Oil and Gas industry. Petroleum Federation of India and ICRA jointly have carried out a comprehensive analysis of the same so as to assess the macro and micro level impact of plunging oil prices on Indian economy, oil and gas industry (upstream, mid-stream and downstream) as well as on consumers. Shri K. D. Tripathi, Secectary, MoP&NG released the study report on 'Impact of Soft Global Crude Oil Prices on Indian Oil & Gas Industry' during the PetroFed Awards Ceremony.
