The only conference of its type held in India, Oil Spill India has over the years evolved to become one of the most important international forums dedicated to Oil Spill Planning, Prepardeness, Response & Restoration systems. This event was initiated after the Macondo incident at Gulf of Mexico where a blow out at Deepwater Horizon rig in 2010 resulted in around 206 million gallons of oil spill, the largest oil spill incident in the world till this date. Oil gushed from the broken well polluted Gulf shoreline and killed hundreds of birds and marine life. Effect was so huge that its imperatives are being felt by the company and the communities till this date.

Thus, a platform was created in India for sharing knowledge, experience, technology, rules & regulations for awareness and taking preventive actions. The forum partakes at a critical juncture in brining together the global spill response industry & its stakeholders in the region to deliberate and collaborate on the prevention & response frameworks whilst concurrently build an informative schedule of the raising Global Standards.

Organized in association with the "Directorate General of Shipping", Ministry of Shipping, The Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) has supported the event this year. Oil Spill India provides an excellent forum for sharing of valued perspectives and brainstorming on Oil Spill Response (OSR) preparedness, developments, methodologies, techniques and models used for combating spills of any kind or source.

With more than 400 industry experts, representing 200 plus organisations, 25 countries from across the world, OSI 2018 has showcased 12 interactive sessions, a concurrent exhibition with the latest in global technologies & equipments and a special Gala Dinner following the traditions of previous OSI conferences.
